▲ 'BTS Economic Effect' Created by North American Tour

BTS's North American world tour is being analyzed as creating large-scale consumption effects across regional economies beyond the concert venues.

The British daily newspaper The Guardian evaluated BTS's world tour, which resumed after four years, as leading to massive economic prosperity in the United States.

In particular, it analyzed that 16 performances across 7 North American cities continuing until September are energizing various industries including accommodations, tourism, dining, and transportation.

▲ Las Vegas Concert Generates 450 Billion Won in Consumption Effect

The Guardian cited the Las Vegas concert held in May as a prime example.

At that time, BTS sold out all 4 performances, and large hotels as well as small shops and cafes in Chinatown benefited, with an estimated economic effect of approximately 450 billion won created.

The evaluation noted that the entire city experienced a 'BTS boom' beyond the concert itself.

▲ Fan Purchasing Power Drives Regional Economic Growth

The MetLife Stadium concert in New Jersey also created substantial consumption effects.

BTS drew approximately 157,000 audiences over two days during the performances on the 1st and 2nd, and as a result of the concert, fans from around the world flocked to the Korea Town area in Manhattan, New York, energizing local commerce.

Michael Mariano, Director of Economic Development at Tourism Economics, evaluated that when considering BTS fans' related consumption in accommodations, air travel, and food and beverages, the economic ripple effect could match or exceed that of the FIFA World Cup.

▲ Concert Success Also Drives Parent Company HIBE's Performance

The global tour effect of BTS was also confirmed in the parent company's performance.

Parent company HIBE recorded 1.45 trillion won in revenue for the second quarter of this year, opening the entertainment industry's first single-quarter era of over 1 trillion won in revenue.

This represents the largest quarterly performance since the company's founding, demonstrating that BTS's world tour and global fandom's purchasing power are translating into corporate performance and industry growth.

▲ K-pop Concerts Establish Themselves as Growth Driver for City Economies

This case demonstrates that K-pop concerts are establishing themselves as economic assets that drive tourism, consumption, and service industries overall, beyond being mere cultural content.

Experts analyzed that large-scale concerts based on global fandom simultaneously increase demand for accommodations, dining, shopping, and transportation in host cities, making practical contributions to revitalizing local economies.

BTS's North American tour was evaluated as a representative case demonstrating that the concert industry is developing into a key growth engine that drives city economies, not just cultural influence.
