China's independently developed passenger aircraft C919 will be deployed on the Beijing-Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia route on the 12th of next month, marking an important milestone as it begins its first scheduled international passenger service and expands its presence on the international stage.

This will serve as an opportunity for C919, which has been perceived as 'domestic-use' until now, to begin its first scheduled international route operation and internationally demonstrate China's aviation industry's technological independence and reliability. Air China will deploy C919 on the route and plans to operate one round-trip flight daily.

C919 is China's first passenger aircraft with independent intellectual property rights, embodying the technological pride of China's aviation industry. The aircraft has a passenger capacity of 158 to 192 and a cruising range of 4,075 to 5,555 km. The C919, which was delivered in November 2015, achieved its maiden flight in May 2017 and began its first commercial operation in 2023.

C919 has already accumulated overwhelming achievements on China's domestic routes. As of the end of April this year, it has been deployed on more than 42,000 commercial passenger flights within China, securing stability and technical reliability. Air China currently has 12 C919 aircraft delivered and is operating one flight per day on the Beijing-Hong Kong route.

The deployment of the Beijing-Ulaanbaatar international route is significant as it marks the starting point of C919's overseas expansion. Attention is focused on whether C919 will expand its operations to more international routes starting with this first step and broaden its position in the global market.
