The '2026 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival' drew approximately 150,000 visitors to Songdo, Incheon over four days starting July 31st despite the extreme heat, proving once again the status of Korea's representative rock music festival under the 'RE:BOOT' slogan while significantly enhancing content and visitor convenience.

The '2026 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival,' marking its 21st edition this year, took place at Songdo Dalbit Festival Park in Incheon from July 31st to August 2nd. Living up to the 'RE:BOOT' (reboot/restart) slogan, the festival showcased a record-breaking lineup of 66 teams including renowned international acts such as Massive Attack, Pixies, and Khruangbin, along with popular domestic artists including Hyukoh and Lee Seung-yoon, garnering explosive response from audiences. Despite the record-breaking heat wave, the festival achieved great success with 150,000 visitors attending over the four days.

Festival operations focused not only on enhancing content but also on expanding visitor convenience facilities. Attendees were able to enjoy the festival in a more pleasant and convenient manner through large cooling zones, kids zones, the introduction of an official app, and separated entry flow. In particular, thorough safety management in preparation for the extreme heat stood out. Medical booths were significantly expanded, medical staff were stationed at all times, and ambulances were on standby at the venue. Despite the massive crowd of 150,000 people, heat-related illness transfers were limited to only seven individuals—six visitors and one vendor staff member—and all of them returned home safely thanks to prompt measures.

The successful festival also made a significant contribution to revitalizing the local economy. The commercial areas near Songdo, Incheon came alive with festivalgoers, and local merchants enjoyed much-needed business boom. This is evidence that the festival is a successful model of co-prosperity with the local community, transcending a simple cultural event.

An Incheon city official stated, "We express our deep gratitude to the 150,000 visitors who came to Pentaport despite the record-breaking heat wave and to all residents who actively cooperated," adding, "Taking this 'RE:BOOT' as a stepping stone, we will expand global music exchange and strengthen audience-centered operations to leap forward as a world-class music festival beyond Asia." The 2026 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival, which marked a successful restart, is expected to establish itself as a world-class music festival beyond Asia through strengthened audience-centered operations and expanded global music exchange.
