The intense heat of the 2026 FIFA World Cup has shaken global music charts beyond the soccer field.

Billboard announced on the 20th (local time) its Global 200 chart, revealing that "Dái Dái," the official theme song for the 2026 World Cup, held the number one position for the second consecutive week. The song, performed together by Colombian pop star Shakira and Nigerian singer Burna Boy, made its first appearance on stage at the opening ceremony in Mexico City on the 11th of last month, and was brilliantly reproduced during the championship halftime show on the 19th, once again touching the hearts of fans worldwide. The World Cup soundtrack has been there from start to finish of the tournament.

What catches even more attention is the remarkable resurgence of "Wonderwall" by British band Oasis. This song, released all the way back in 1995, soared from 21st place to 4th place on the Global 200 chart. The secret lies in the explosive interest it received as England national team fans sang it as a cheering song during this World Cup. In fact, streaming plays surged 64% in just one week, surpassing 35 million streams. A 30-year-old song has been revived by one World Cup.

Meanwhile, on Billboard's main singles chart, "Hot 100," "Dracula," a collaboration between BLACKPINK's Jennie and Australian singer Tame Impala, maintained its 5th place position for the second consecutive week, showcasing K-pop's strength. "Pushin' Texas" by Ella Langley reached number one for the 14th time in total, joining Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" (2005) and Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" (1992-1993) as tied for the second-most number one positions by a female solo artist. The current record for most number one positions is held by Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" with 22 weeks.

The 2026 World Cup, which concluded on the 19th, has established itself as a global cultural phenomenon both inside and outside the stadium. Billboard's Global chart is released weekly based on streaming and sales data compiled from over 200 countries worldwide.
