숲과 대화를 나누다

이 독창적인 별장은 멕시코 타팔파 근처 외딴 숲속에 위치하고 있다. 이 집은 주변 환경과 조화를 이루며, 공간의 이용에 따라 두 구역으로 나뉘어 있다. 첫 번째 구역은 하루 종일 어떤 행위들이 일어나는 곳으로 입구, 식탁, 주방, 거실 그리고 테라스가 있다. 높은 지대 쪽에 위치하며, 주변 숲과 소통하고 대화를 나누기에 충분히 개방적인 형태의 공간이다.

두 번째 구역에는 사적인 공간들이 포함돼 있다. 침실들이 복도를 통해 연결되며, 복도에는 바깥 숲속의 멋진 경치가 프레임으로 담긴 것이 인상적이다. 이 두 구역을 연결하는 공간은 스톤월과 우드월로 연출된 입구 홀(로비)이다. 이 공간에 적용된 지역 재료들은 주변 환경에 대한 순수한 존경심을 불러일으키고 있다.

이 프로젝트의 목표는 이 지역에서 일반화된 전원주택의 전형적인 컨셉을 재정의하는 것이었다. 집주인은 도시를 탈출해 휴일을 찾아 나서는 한 젊은 가족이며, 이들의 요구가 결과물의 가장 기본이 됐다.

This unique vacation house is located near Tapalpa in a secluded forested area. The house adapts to its surrounding through two volumes that define the usage areas. The first volume is where all daytime activities happen: the entrance, dining room, kitchen, living room, and terrace. This volume is elevated, generating a dialog with the surrounding forest. The second volume contains the private areas. The bedrooms are connected by a hallway with a horizontal window that frames the forest outside. The area that connects both volumes is articulated through an entrance hall built with walls of flagstone and wood. These regional materials generate a feeling of absolute respect for the surrounding environment.

The goal of this project was to redefine the concept of the typical country house so common in this region. This request by the client, a young family in search of a holiday retreat outside the city, was fundamental for the outcome of this work.
